brother!: Short Film Screening and Artist Discussion
Step into the heart of storytelling with a special screening of ‘brother!, part of the Fragile Strength programme at The Minories Art Gallery.
Date: 6th July 2025
Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Venue: The Minories Art Gallery, 74 High St, Colchester, CO1 1UE
Directed by talented artist Reuben Hamlyn, Brother! is a powerful short film that explores masculinity, emotional resilience, brotherhood, and the unspoken struggles faced by many men today.
Through stunning visuals and honest narratives, the film challenges outdated definitions of strength and opens up new space for vulnerability, emotional connection, and discussion.
After the screening, there will be an artist discussion with Reuben Hamlyn for an insightful artist discussion, where we’ll explore the inspiration behind the ‘brother!’, the making of the film, and the broader impact of storytelling on mental health awareness.
This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artist and engage in open discussion about themes that affect us all.
And there’s more!
