Call Me by My Name

A space where identity, vulnerability, and self-expression take centre stage.

Step into a space where identity, vulnerability, and self-expression take centre stage. Call Me by My Name is a transformative Process Drama Workshop that invites participants to explore the personal and social complexities of who we are—and who we are allowed to be.

Date: 18th July, 2025

Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Venue: The Minories Art Gallery, 74 High St, Colchester CO1 1UE

Inspired by the acclaimed novel Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman, this workshop draws from the book’s deeply emotional themes of longing, identity, and authenticity. Just like in the story, where a name becomes a symbol of intimacy and self-discovery, this session provides a safe and creative space for participants to reflect, express, and reclaim their voices.

Through improvisation, role-play, and collaborative storytelling, you’ll journey through narratives that challenge societal expectations and explore mental well-being through a creative lens. This workshop is not only engaging but deeply healing, aligning with the mission of the Fragile Strength project—to use art and dialogue as tools for breaking down stigma around male mental health.

Whether you're new to drama or a seasoned storyteller, this session offers something powerful for everyone. Discover how performance can nurture empathy, resilience, and belonging.

Spaces are limited. Reserve your place today and be part of a meaningful movement for self-expression and community connection.

This event is part of Fragile Strength, our ongoing project that explores vulnerability, masculinity, and mental wellbeing through community-driven arts and dialogue. Throughout June and July, we’re also hosting a series of creative workshops, artist talks, and film screenings, including:
