Artist Open Call for Identities and Representation

Open Call for Participation: First Exhibition of the Identity Project

Artlune and Art by Nilanjan are excited to announce the first exhibition of the Identity Project, a captivating 5-day showcase centered around the theme "Identities and Representation". This exhibition will be held from 9th June to 13th June 2023 at RPR Gallery, Old M B Road, Lado Sarai, New Delhi, and curated by Nilanjan Chakravarty and Vikas Garg.

We invite artists to submit their works for consideration in this significant exhibition, which explores how identities are defined and depicted in our society. Through various forms of artistic expression, this exhibition aims to delve into the complexities of identity, the influence of societal norms, and the power of representation.

Theme: Identities and Representation

The exhibition will focus on the intricate, multifaceted nature of identity, shaped by factors such as culture, race, gender, sexuality, religion, and socioeconomic status. It will also address how representation influences our understanding of ourselves and others, often perpetuating stereotypes and biases. This is an opportunity for artists to contribute to the ongoing dialogue around the intersection of identity, culture, and power.

What We Are Looking For: We invite artists working in diverse mediums, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and digital art, to submit their works that explore and challenge concepts of identity and representation. Each selected piece should reflect the artist’s unique perspective on the theme, inviting viewers to reflect, question, and engage with their own understanding of identity.
