Unlock Yourself

Unlock your potential and take charge of your life at our Unlock Yourself: Talk and Draw Session at The Minories!

Date: 12th July, 2025

Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Venue: The Minories Art Gallery, 74 High St, Colchester, CO1 1UE

Inspired by Gary John Bishop’s bestselling book Unfu*k Yourself, this session is all about breaking free from self-doubt, overcoming mental barriers, and stepping into a stronger, more confident version of yourself.

Through a blend of creative drawing activities and open conversations, participants will explore themes of resilience, mental clarity, and emotional strength. You’ll use art as a tool for self-expression while engaging in supportive dialogue that helps you visualise and actively shape a positive mindset.

This session is part of the Fragile Strength project, which highlights the delicate balance between vulnerability and resilience. Just as Bishop’s book encourages personal empowerment and mental toughness, our curated session invites you to explore your inner strength through creativity and connection.

Whether you are an artist or simply seeking a space for honest self-reflection, this workshop is for you. No prior art experience is needed—just a willingness to show up for yourself!

This event is part of Fragile Strength, our ongoing project that explores vulnerability, masculinity, and mental wellbeing through community-driven arts and dialogue. Throughout June and July, we’re also hosting a series of creative workshops, artist talks, and film screenings, including:
