Sheli Gupta & Diafrel: Artist's Talk

29 August 2026
Virtual Event

Meet Sheli Gupta and Diafrel

Go beyond the artworks and hear directly from the two artists behind Almost Seen.

Join Sheli Gupta and Diafrel for a live conversation about their artistic practices, creative processes and the ideas that shaped their work for the exhibition.

Although their materials, backgrounds and approaches are different, both artists explore what happens when something is hidden, overlooked or pushed out of sight.

What We'll Discuss

  • The ideas behind their work in Almost Seen

  • Their individual artistic journeys and practices

  • How materials shape their creative process

  • The role of visibility, concealment and what remains unseen in their work

  • How two different artistic perspectives came together in one exhibition

  • An audience Q&A with both artists

Meet the Artists

Sheli Gupta — India

Sheli Gupta's practice explores female subjectivity, desire, vulnerability, identity and the tension between concealment and exposure. She works with layered materials, mixed media on paper and acrylics on paper to explore what lies beneath the visible.

Diafrel — France

Based in the Île-de-France region, Diafrel is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice combines ecological concerns with figurative and abstract approaches. He works on reclaimed fabrics and other discarded materials, using impasto and paint scraping to transform their existing surfaces.
