In the most inconspicuous corners of daily life, the gentle flickering of tree shadows, the moisture in the air, or the way light rests upon surfaces. These everyday experiences often shared cultural memories and environmental perceptions.
The things we are accustomed to, in fact, are constantly and quietly shaping our emotions, identity, and worldview.
Tikendra Kumar Sahu's watercolours take their starting point from these most tiny sensory experiences, employing a gentle and persistent observation to open a new entrance for the viewer to feel the world, allowing the work to develop the texture of life through the slow process of accumulation, forming the picture with countless tiny dots and delicate brushstrokes.
These delicate textures and rhythms invite the viewer to pause their hurried thoughts, allowing for a more embodied way of experiencing the world.
In Sahu's work, the physical nature of environments is transformed into emotional resonance; everyday moments are redefined, becoming aesthetic questions about “how we perceive the world, and how the world, in turn, shapes us”.
This exhibition invites viewers, on this gentle visual journey, to rediscover that:
Life's depth does not lie in grand narratives, but quietly emerges within those most subtle but authentic moments of daily existence.
